Where they overlap
There is overlap in ankle instability and ligament injuries, tendon conditions, sporting injuries and selected trauma. If the referral clearly describes the problem, the Joint Vision team can direct it to the surgeon whose interests best match the clinical question.
What happens after referral
Send the referral via HealthLink, fax or your usual secure referral workflow.
Patient Services confirms the appropriate appointment and works with the patient on the next step.
If imaging is required, Joint Vision can coordinate it. X-ray and musculoskeletal ultrasound are available on site, with other imaging arranged when required.
Specialist review can connect directly with physiotherapy, exercise physiology, nursing and rehabilitation where clinically appropriate.
How to refer
A named surgeon is helpful but not essential. If the referral describes the body area and clinical question, the Joint Vision team can help route it appropriately.
