Urgent referrals are reviewed and prioritised. Please flag urgency clearly on the referral so Patient Services can arrange the appropriate next step.
For a recent suitable injury, patients can book the Fracture & Injury Clinic directly. Same-day appointments may be available; call Patient Services if urgency or suitability is unclear.

- Hip and knee osteoarthritis and persistent joint pain
- Hip and knee replacement assessment
- Meniscal, ligament and sports-related knee injuries
- Patellofemoral pain and instability
- Hip pain, including degenerative and mechanical conditions
- Fractures and traumatic injuries involving the hip or knee
- Patients where the diagnosis or need for surgery remains uncertain
What happens after referral
Refer the patient. We can coordinate the rest.

Referral received
Send the referral via HealthLink, fax or your usual secure referral workflow.

Patient contacted
Patient Services confirms the appropriate appointment and works with the patient on the next step.

Imaging coordinated
If imaging is required, Joint Vision can coordinate it. X-ray and musculoskeletal ultrasound are available on site, with other imaging arranged when required.

Connected care
Specialist review can connect directly with physiotherapy, exercise physiology, nursing and rehabilitation where clinically appropriate.
