A preventative healthcare facility is launching in Wollongong through a partnership between Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group and Phoenix Health Co. Joint Vision CEO Wynter Dares and co-founder Dr Meghan Dares are working with Dr Oscar Horky and Katie Horky to establish the venture at the Bruce Gordon Centre.
The facility is designed to shift the emphasis from reactive healthcare toward proactive, personalised care. Dr Horky, a University of Wollongong medical graduate with a background in fitness and military medicine, explained the motivation.
Every day in medicine, you see people reaching a crisis point before they finally prioritise their health.
Phoenix Health Co brings together medical care, exercise physiology and recovery services in one place, using health tracking data to help people understand their health before serious conditions develop.
Services offered
The model begins with a foundational assessment including blood testing, DEXA body composition scanning, ECG analysis, wearable data review, mental health screening and personalised planning.
From there, people can access tailored 12-month programs addressing:
- Preventative health and vitality
- Weight management
- Women's hormonal health
- Men's health over 40
- Healthy ageing
- Performance
Facility features
The Bruce Gordon Centre location includes medical consultation suites, exercise physiology programming, recovery spaces, sauna and contrast therapy, VO2 max testing, DEXA scanning and integrated health tracking technology.
Dr Meghan Dares noted the alignment with the Joint Vision philosophy.
Phoenix is about creating a model that supports people earlier, helps them understand their health more deeply.
Katie Horky, co-founder, brings 16 years of paramedic experience and a commitment to preventative healthcare and lifestyle change.
