How Exercise Physiologist Caitlin Beatty Went From ACL Injury to Empowering Others In Their Recovery

When exercise physiologist Caitlin Beatty felt a pop in her knee during a game of netball, she knew something was wrong.

“I was chasing after a loose ball when it happened,” Caitlin said. 

“I found out after coming into Joint Vision the next day that I’d ruptured my ACL.”

What could have been a major setback instead became a powerful reminder of why Caitlin chose her profession — and why she’s passionate about helping others through their own recovery.   

“Thanks to the team, it was a very accelerated approach,” she said. 

She said she got to experience firsthand how effective their model of care was during her ACL rehabilitation when everyone— from imaging to specialists to allied health — worked together.   

Now back on her feet and supporting others in their rehabilitation, Caitlin brings a deep sense of empathy to her role at Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group.

“I enjoy the people,” she said. 

“I enjoy hearing their stories, individualising their goals, and getting to the crux of the issue.”

“When someone comes in, they will be seen, they will have a plan, and they will know exactly what to do moving forward,” she said. 

“We also give them realistic timeframes so they’re not stuck in that cycle of wondering what to do.”
