Redefining Orthopaedic Care: Dr Sheraz Anjum On A Streamlined Approach
For many patients, a trip to see an orthopaedic specialist can be a long and frustrating process — waiting weeks between appointments and repeated consultations.
But at Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group, orthopaedic surgeon Dr Sheraz Anjum said that model had been turned on its head.

From assessment to treatment
Originally from Pakistan and with more than 20 years of experience in orthopaedics, Dr Anjum specialises in foot and ankle surgery.
He said what set Joint Vision apart was its ability to provide patients with comprehensive care, often completed in a single visit.
“We can have one visit where we see the patient, we do ultrasounds, X-rays at the same time, and we have physiotherapists and the allied health team,” Dr Anjum said.
“Before we send the patient back home, they have a physio plan, they have orthotics — they have everything which is required.”
Using a streamlined model of care
Traditionally, patients would face multiple steps: initial consultation, referrals for advanced imaging, follow-up appointments, and then waiting for physiotherapy.
At Joint Vision, those steps are streamlined.
“Here, I get the physio with me, and I explain the diagnosis to the physio in front of the patient, so that they know everybody is working as a team and on the same page,” he said.
“Now, in one visit, we have saved at least a couple of months of the patient’s time.”
He said that often meant a more timely diagnosis and treatment for a patient.
For Dr Anjum, the philosophy is simple:
“At the end of the day, the winner is the patient.”
