Physiotherapist Alicia Frey Helps Patients Get Back to What They Love

For physiotherapist Alicia Frey, the best part of her job is seeing people regain their confidence — and their passions — after injury.

“I love what I do because I love seeing people being able to achieve their goals,” Alicia said.

“After an injury, getting them back to what they love and what their passion is, I think it’s nice to be along that journey with the client, and get to the end together.”

Part of a multidisciplinary team

As part of the multidisciplinary team at Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group, Alicia works with patients of all ages and backgrounds.

“We see everyone and everything here, from littlies right up to the oldies,” she said.

“There’s no typical patient — we see it all here.

“Everyone is treated as an individual. There's no simple recipe to treat everyone with.

“We really look at what's important to that person, and that helps guide what we need to do to get them back to what they enjoy doing.”

She said what makes Joint Vision stand out was the team’s integrated approach

“Joint Vision is very unique in that it’s truly multidisciplinary,” Alicia said.

“We work closely with a lot of the orthopaedic specialists, the allied health team, imaging, and nursing staff.

“We all work as a big team to try to facilitate a really quick and effective diagnosis and management strategy so that people can get back to doing what they want as quickly as possible and most efficiently as well.”

Outside of work, Alicia enjoys staying active herself — whether that’s training at the gym, going for a run, or taking her dog to the beach.

But she also appreciates quiet time with a good book.

Her message to anyone recovering from an injury or managing ongoing pain is simple: don’t wait to get help.

“If you’ve got an injury or need support managing an existing one, come see me at Joint Vision,” she said.
