Joint Vision and Illawarra Basketball Association Unite in Three-Year Community Partnership
Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group is proud to announce a new three-year partnership with the Illawarra Basketball Association (IBA), reinforcing a shared commitment to supporting the health, performance, and long-term wellbeing of athletes across the region.
Starting this year, the partnership will see Joint Vision become an official partner of IBA, with a strong presence at Beaton Park’s Snakepit and across the association’s broader programs.
More than a traditional sponsorship, this partnership has been designed to deliver meaningful, practical value to the Illawarra basketball community, from grassroots juniors through to NBL1 athletes.

Supporting Performance On and Off the Court
As part of the agreement, Joint Vision branding will feature prominently on the Snakepit show court, including a free throw circle logo, alongside in-venue signage and digital visibility across IBA platforms.
Fans will also see Joint Vision integrated into game-day experiences through the “Joint Vision Timeout” during all Men’s and Women’s NBL1 games, as well as a series of interactive activations throughout the season.
These activations will go beyond entertainment creating opportunities to educate, engage, and connect with players, families, and supporters in a way that reflects the realities of sport and injury.
Strengthening the Elite Pathway
As part of its commitment to supporting athletes at every level, Joint Vision has also partnered with NBL1 Illawarra Hawks import guard Matt Mims.
After a standout 2025 season, Mims returns to the Hawks as one of the competition’s most exciting players and his partnership with Joint Vision will provide an authentic platform to showcase the realities of performance, recovery, and resilience at the elite level.
Through this collaboration, Joint Vision will work with Mims on a series of content pieces across the season, giving the community insight into how high-level athletes manage their bodies, recover from setbacks, and stay at their best.
A Partnership Built on Community Impact
At its core, this partnership is about access, ensuring IBA members can benefit from the expertise and multidisciplinary approach that defines Joint Vision.
Throughout each season, Joint Vision clinicians will provide:
Educational sessions for players and parents on injury prevention and management
Specialist-led content tailored to basketball-specific injuries and recovery
Athlete storytelling, including content featuring Matt Mims and other IBA athletes
Ongoing collaboration with IBA to deliver relevant, high-quality health information to members
This reflects a shared belief between both organisations that better outcomes in sport don’t just come from talent, but from the right support systems around athletes.

A Natural Alignment
Joint Vision’s model brings together orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, podiatrists, and rehabilitation specialists under one roof, a structure that mirrors the collaborative nature of high-performance sport.
That alignment made the partnership with IBA a natural fit.
Wynter Dares, CEO of Joint Vision, said:
“This partnership is about more than visibility. It’s about being genuinely embedded in the community. Basketball is such a strong part of the Illawarra, and we see this as an opportunity to support players and families with the knowledge and care they need to stay active and healthy.
Partnering with athletes like Matt Mims also allows us to bring that elite experience back into the community, helping people better understand what it takes to perform, recover, and stay in the game long-term.
We’re looking forward to working closely with IBA to deliver real value, whether that’s through education, injury management, or simply being a trusted resource when people need it.”
Nathan Loveday, Executive General Manager, Illawarra Basketball Association said:
“We’re proud to welcome our new partner to the Illawarra Basketball Association family.
This partnership is built on a shared vision for growth, community impact, and excellence both on and off the court.
Their commitment as a court sponsor, player sponsor for Matt Mimms, and Time Out naming rights partner reflects a genuine investment in our program and our people. We’re excited for what we can achieve together.”
Looking Ahead
Over the next three years, Joint Vision and IBA will work together to build a partnership that evolves with the needs of the community combining high-performance insights with accessible, practical support.
From game nights at the Snakepit to educational sessions and digital content, the focus will remain the same: helping people move better, recover smarter, and stay connected to the sport they love.
